Local Nature Recovery Strategy

About Local Nature Recovery Strategies

Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are locally led plans mandated by the Environment Act 2021. LNRSs aim to recover nature and improve the environment by focusing on actions with the greatest impact on nature recovery.

The importance of nature has been recognised nationally and internationally. Nature is essential to maintaining a healthy environment, providing us with food, and supporting positive wellbeing.

Joined up approaches

In total, 48 LNRSs across England form a Nature Recovery Network across the country. Neighbouring Responsible Authorities have worked together to ensure a joined-up approach to LNRS development and delivery.

Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull Local Nature Partnership have been working with Warwickshire County Council to support production of the LNRS for Warwickshire, and with West Midlands Combined Authority to support production of the West Midlands LNRS.

Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull Local Nature Partnership will continue to support in promoting and enacting both LNRSs to facilitate a joined-up approach to nature recovery.
